The Lewmar windlass is the gold standard for mid-size cruisers. The V700 handles 5/16" G4 chain reliably — the most common size on 30-40ft boats. A few things I always tell customers: calibrate the chain counter before your first anchor, install a dedicated 2AWG cable run to it, and never use it to drag the boat up to anchor. Let it do chain only; use the engine to power forward.
