The deck fill is something customers overlook until theirs starts leaking fuel odors into the cabin. The Perko brass fitting outlasts the plastic alternatives significantly — I've seen plastic fills crack at the threads after a few seasons. Make sure you use Teflon tape properly on the NPT thread when installing, and snug-tight is enough — overtightening cracks brass fittings.
